Belvoir Welcomes New Board Member

Leading lettings agency, Belvoir, has appointed Michael Stoop to join the board as a non-executive board member. His appointment comes as another board member steps down from a similar position, creating an opportunity for Stoop.
Having already established himself in the property industry, Stoop brings a wealth of experience to the position. He first worked for Winkworth and then joined Legal & General, where he helped to set up the Legal & General Franchising Ltd, converting the firm’s corporate estate agency business to a franchised network. The firm was later sold to Martin & Co, now known as The Property Franchise Group.
Stoop went on to become the managing director of The Property Franchise Group, and even had discussions with Belvoir in 2017 over a possible merger.
That’s not all. Stoop is a member of The Property Ombudsman board and has been since 2001. This insight gives him exceptional knowledge of the industry and best practises, which he will bring to his new role with Belvoir.
Working on the board for Belvoir, he will act as chairman of the Remuneration Committee, and become a member of the Audit Committee. He is also a non-executive director of Sorbet HQ, a property technology firm that helps landlords manage their properties.
Belvoir is an award-winning lettings and estate agency franchise, with over 170 offices across the country. They are all locally managed, enabling the experts to give detailed advice, specific to the local property market. It was first founded in 1995 and has gone on to become the largest property franchise on the UK high street. Each office can provide tenant and landlord insurance packages, and it has a dedicated helpline for resolving any issues. Belvoir has won gold for Best Lettings Franchise at the Times & Sunday Times six time – that’s out of seven entries.
