Barking Mad searches for new dog-sitters

Dog lovers can apply to look after dogs while their owners are away as part of Barking Mad’s dog-sitting service.
Barking Mad is appealing to people who are interested in getting fit and becoming part of a dog-loving community to join their body of registered dog-sitters. The pet franchise is searching for true dog lovers who are “genuinely passionate about working with dogs and have experience looking after them”.
Applicants must live in a secure home with good outdoor space and not have children under five or pets that would be incompatible with a dog. Barking Mad suggests that the role could be of interest to people who cannot commit to taking care of a dog full-time or people who find themselves feeling lonely from time to time.
The company ensures that pet-sitters have no distractions whilst they are looking after their assigned dog or puppy, and manages all transportation, paperwork, insurance and exchange of money. What’s more, Barking Mad will only allocate house-trained dogs (or almost house-trained puppies), and does not work with dogs who have exhibited aggressive behaviour in the past.
Barking Mad is also a fully licensed member of the Pet Industry Federation and goes the extra mile to comply with all local authority regulations. The company does everything in its power to ensure that its clients’ dogs receive the best care possible, and always meets potential dog-sitters for an informal interview over a cup of tea or coffee.

Barking Mad was founded by Lee Dancy in Kirkby Lonsdale, Cumbria in May 2000. Having planned a trip to America to celebrate the millenium, Dancy was looking for somewhere her dalmation, Bronte, could maintain her “normal routine of walks, treats and cuddles”. 18 months later, Barking Mad was launched as a dog-sitting service across the country.
Anyone who would like to become part of the Barking Mad family should complete an online form detailing their name, phone number, email address, postcode and why they would make a great dog-sitting host at https://www.barkingmad.uk.com/become-a-dog-sitter/contact-us/.
