Avant Healthcare’s Olga Mcrae has bagged a national nomination at the Great British Care Awards for her commitment to her role.
All of Avant Healthcare’s committed carers make sure to do the best by their clients, but one of their network has gone above and beyond to make sure her clients are happy and healthy.
Olga Mcrae’s efforts haven’t gone unnoticed either, as she’s been nominated for an accolade at the Great British Care Awards. Just some of the moments when the Hounslow carer has really gone the extra mile include:
- Feeding a client’s cats unpaid even after the client was admitted to hospital and buying the client a bus pass out of her own money
- Keeping another client active by helping him do his exercises daily and read as many books as he was able to
Olga said that she loves her job and explained just what makes her role so special.
**“I enjoy communicating with my clients. I smile and they smile back, and I give them time to talk. It's important to be a good listener - like a friend. I want to improve and maintain their mood and health, so I try to be a ray of sunshine for them. I wish I'd thought about becoming a carer earlier.”**
Speaking about Olga’s commitment to her clients, manager Danielle Daines said:
**“We train all our carers to be compassionate and uphold the dignity of clients, but Olga goes the extra mile.”**
Sally Graham, founder and franchisor at the healthcare franchise, outlined why it’s so important for franchisees to work with exceptional staff.
**“The way to deliver the highest quality care to clients is through dedicated, well-trained and well-rewarded professional carers. As a franchise we value all of our carers, so we help our franchisees to recruit the best, and then support franchisees to deliver an extensive package of training and benefits. This results in high quality care and higher than average levels of carer retention, benefiting care clients, carers and the franchisee.”**
Sally added:
**“Prospective care sector franchisees should investigate the quality of care delivered by the franchise. It is this that will give them the edge over their competition.”**
