The Bucks-based soft pretzel specialist franchise, Auntie Anne’s has announced its expansion plans to the North West.
Auntie Anne’s plans on opening 11 sites in the North West of England to add to its 34 stores across the UK, including Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Additionally, with an £8m turnover, the soft pretzel company is looking for the right franchisees and territories to launch food-to-go vans across the UK.
Victoria Gale, the company’s marketing manager announced many of the older sites will be freshened up and fully refurbished with the new and improved Auntie Anne’s style by this year. After a slight downturn in consumer confidence in 2017, this year has kicked off with solid sales and great promise.
“As a grab-and-go snack food business, we rely on impulse purchases and therefore, are affected by footfall levels in the shopping centres in which we trade. In the first quarter of 2017, we were impacted by the macro influences thought to be caused by Brexit which affected consumer confidence.” Gale said.
Despite it all, Auntie Anne’s had an excellent Easter and superb summer with positive sales and the launch of its first airside eatery in 2017, at Luton airport.
Founded in 1988 in Pennsylvania, US, Auntie Anne’s now has 1,800 master franchise run shops around the world.
