Auntie Anne’s will give away a number of freebies to mark the basketball tournament season in the US.

For people across America, the start of spring is all about the NCAA men’s basketball tournament, which is known as March Madness. Auntie Anne’s is celebrating the annual event with several exciting new products, including limited-edition pretzel buckets and a fun mobile game.

Cynthia Liu, the takeaway franchise’s Vice President of Marketing, said,

"Nothing pairs better with game-watching than golden brown, freshly baked pretzels! Knowing how much fans missed their favourite tournament last year, it was important that we celebrate its return in a big way.

“At Auntie Anne’s, we’re all about turning a simple moment into one that’s simply unforgettable. We’re thrilled to offer fans more ways to celebrate the tournament all in the comfort of their home.”

Throughout the month, Auntie Anne’s will be giving away tasty products for free. Every time someone scores a basket in the tournament, the franchise will treat a Pretzel Perks rewards member to a free bucket of pretzels, complete with a card ‘backboard’.

The company has also collaborated with Coca-Cola to introduce its Play to Win: Basketball Buckets Challenge mobile game. Until the 8th April, any customer who buys one of the basketball-themed pretzel buckets can take part in the game by scanning the unique code on the ‘backboard’.

Anyone who scores enough points in the virtual basketball game is in with a chance of winning a prize. The gifts up for grabs include a Coca-Cola fountain soda, an Original or Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel and a free Auntie Anne’s delivery.

Plus, there are money-saving deals available throughout the tournament. Customers can buy a Basketball Bucket and two medium drinks for $21.99, or three Basketball Buckets for $54.99.
