Agency Express franchisee reveals his journey so far

Agency Express’s Leicester franchisee has revealed how his business has fared during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ambitious entrepreneur Richard Jones launched Agency Express Leicester in September last year. He was on furlough from his job as a manager in transport optimisation departments for logistics companies when he decided to explore the possibility of joining a franchise.

Before long, Richard had investigated several business opportunities and decided to make contact with Agency Express. He said,

“Being on furlough allowed me to explore options for what I wanted to do with my career. Choosing the right business to work with can be a minefield, but from the first steps of finding out about Agency Express it was clear to me that I would be moving into a business that would reward me for hard work rather than offering empty promises.”

Following a five-day online learning course and socially-distanced manual training scheme, the estate agency signage franchise helped Richard set up his business unit.

“The support and advice given to guide me into self-employment was really appreciated. There is always somebody available at head office to deal with any queries I have… and local franchisees are always forthcoming with advice too.”

Now six months into his franchising journey, Richard has been able to develop a successful business, despite his concerns about becoming his own boss during the pandemic. He added,

“It has been a daunting experience; I am in control of my own fortunes, good or bad. However, this responsibility is what I wanted and the potential to really achieve something in my career is exciting.

“The biggest enjoyment for me comes from the work itself which is completely different to what I did with my career before. The desk is a distant memory and I love being out in the countryside with the radio on!”

Today, Richard is looking forward to continuing to grow the business.
