Acacia Homecare welcomes new Acacia Angel to the team

The care franchise was recently delighted to introduce Sarah, who traded recruitment consultancy for home care and hasn’t looked back.

Having previously been a recruitment consultant and a bar manager, Sarah “didn’t even think [her] skill set was interchangeable to care”. But, in her words, “I gave up work to look after my dad when my mum passed away and he moved in with me as he had Parkinson’s. After his passing, I decided to look for work again. I hadn’t considered care but I saw an advert for Acacia and thought that they sounded like a company I would love to work for.”

It turns out Sarah’s skill set, by this stage and after time spent caring for her father, was very much suited to a career with the care franchise. Sarah said of starting her journey as an Acacia Angel, “I fell in love with home care instantly! I loved it from day one as everyone was so friendly and helpful, from out in the field to office staff.”

In Sarah’s words, “Seeing the look on my customers’ faces when I walk in having a laugh and a joke with them makes me know that they are pleased to see me! I can’t put into words how I feel knowing that I am helping people to live their lives as normally, independently and safely as they can. This job also gives me the flexibility to be able to look after my grandson as well, so it’s the best of both worlds with Acacia.”

Sarah concluded by saying, “I have been working with Acacia for just over 6 months and would love to further my career in care.
