Ableworld has shared positive news about its bricks-and-mortar performance amid other high street woes.

Ableworld’s managing director Mike Williams has been reflecting on the UK high street mobility retailers’ street’s performance and encourages other retailers to have optimism despite the negative press.

In a weekly bulletin circulated to all of Ableworld’s staff and franchisees, Mr Williams revealed that bricks-and-mortar stores account for around 80% of total retail sales in the industry. However, due to the negative press around the ‘dying high street’, Williams says that its easy for people to become discouraged about their potential for sales success.

“If some stores are sitting there with doom and gloom believing they can’t go against the trend of what they hear on the TV – they are so wrong. Anyone sitting there thinking retail as we know it is dead needs to think again.”

He explained that businesses need to ensure that the physical service they provide adds value to their company, utilising tools such as excellent customer service and knowledgeable sales assistants. This is something that Ableworld has prioritised since the very beginning, which has doubtless contributed to its continuing success.

“You have to give a good service and ensure you work hard to get and keep those customers, whether they be the end-customer, their children or the healthcare professionals.”

And, Williams can back up his thoughts with solid numbers. Ableworld’s franchised and company owned stores have both seen higher sales in the last 16 weeks compared to the same period in the previous financial year. He encouraged everyone in the company to stay positive about the industry, concluding:

“There is so much out there, in a great Industry, where we can help and support others, everyone should be proud of being part of it.”
