A Global Coffee Chain With A Heart

Esquires Coffee was founded in 1993 with the ethos of selling coffee that is not only amazingly delicious but ethical. Passionate about ‘keeping it real’ has helped Esquires Coffee grow from a small shop in British Columbia, Canada to the leader in ethical coffee. The key to their success heeds in a culture that respects and values the people and the planet; where ethical and sustainable business practices are fully supported and enforced and people are not exploited and the planet is not harmed in the name of profit. The triple bottom line economics – People, Profit, Planet – is their core business value.
In 2000, Esquires Coffee crossed over to the UK and Europe, making its way to England, Ireland and Scotland with the help of master license agreements. This was a golden opportunity for the brand to expand through franchising which has proven exponentially successful. Today, the honest and ethical coffee chain serves amazing fairly traded and organic products, with staff fully trained to give great service and in warm and cosy settings.
Esquires Coffee has 38 stores across the UK and Ireland and a refurbishment programme underway to ensure the branding and global design are seamlessly aligned. In 2013, the parent company announced its plans to expand and grow its business to at least 580 Esquires Coffee stores around the world by 2020. The ethical coffee chain currently operates Master Franchisees in the Middle East with plans to expand to 80 more stores in all Gulf Co-operation Council countries. Esquires Coffee is looking to develop in China and in North America, the construction of a number of new corporate flagships are underway with expansion plans into other Canadian provinces.
