Shuttercraft has rounded up the top four lighting trends for 2021.
The management franchise has predicted we’ll all go mad for brass and gold fixtures, as well as iridescent and LED lighting, and voice-activated systems.
In a recent blog post, Shuttercraft, the UK’s largest distributor of interior plantation shutters, threw some light on the most popular trends of the moment. Brass fittings, it explained, are “a great way to add some stylish colour to a space”, and there are options for almost every taste. While you’ll find lots of products available, thanks to the current industrial and mid-century trends, they add a softer edge to some of the more “austere” styles.
Meanwhile, characterful iridescent bulbs are also becoming increasingly popular. According to Shuttercraft, “you can evoke the varied and changing nature of natural light, whilst adding bulbs and fixtures which are beautiful in and of themselves”. You can move through a space and notice differences in the light, which should boost your mood.
Next up is LED lighting, which comes in a wide range of different colours that you can change to fit your mood. Shuttercraft recommended people avoid using the blue end of the spectrum in the evening, as they can interfere with sleep patterns even after you’ve turned them off.
Finally, Shuttercraft revealed the final lighting trend of 2021: voice-activated systems. According to the franchise, it’s far from a gimmick; in fact, it has “very real benefits for your home as a workspace and place to relax”. Often, they provide much more control than the average light switch.
Shuttercraft regularly publishes informative blogs, which you can find on its website. Over the years, it’s become a leader in the window coverings industry - discover how you could benefit from its expertise by visiting its profile page, linked above.
