Quiznos brings back a Greek favourite that divides fans with its pronunciation.
Sandwich franchise Quiznos has announced that one of its most popular offerings will return to its stores in the US with an offer that will be difficult to resist.
On the 17th October, all US customers of the sandwich franchise will be able to celebrate the return of the Greek Gyros and salads by picking up a Gyro flatbread for just $1. As well as receiving a discounted taste of the Mediterranean, all customers will be able to pick up a free four-inch sub sandwich simply by becoming a member of the Toasty Points scheme.
Although the pronunciation of the delicious Greek offering divides sandwich fans, they can all agree that the mouth-watering choice of seasoned, slow-roasted lamb and beef or succulent oven-roasted chicken paired with salad, feta and creamy tzatziki is a treat that’s not to be missed. Customers will be able to choose from soft flatbread, freshly toasted subs or crunchy Greek salad to pair with the irresistibly tasty meats.
Gerry Lopez, Executive Chairman, said that the tricky-to-pronounce snack is a firm favourite among customers and that the franchise is thrilled to add it to the menu once again. "We've had many different pronunciations of Gyro from our customers. No matter how you say it, we're excited to bring these popular flavours back to our menu and give everyone a $1 Gyro on October 17th."
Founded in Denver, Colorado by Jimmy Lambatos and Todd Disner in 1981, Quiznos offers delicious, freshly prepared toasted sandwiches and subs. Almost 40 years later, it now has restaurants in over 32 countries including the U.S, bringing its tasty treats to customers across the globe. The sandwich franchise has earnt its following by producing toasted subs that Lambatos says are inspired by the oven-baked sandwiches he would enjoy while growing up in New York.
