Bartercard boosts Australian businesses

Bartercard has offered its unique ‘trade dollars’ to help keep small businesses across Australia going.

Small businesses have been hit the hardest by the current Covid-19 pandemic, so Bartercard has offered to help those most at need in Australia.

The business franchise has offered $1,000 AUD in its ‘trade dollars’ to businesses across the county. They’ll be able to spend the funds with more than 10,000 small businesses all over Australia and access all kinds of goods and services that are vital for keeping their operations going.

The ‘Barter-Assist’ stimulus package will be completely free for all Australian residents that have lost their jobs and for SMEs with a turnover under $10m for the previous year. They’ll be able to list goods or services on Bartercard’s trading platforms and trade them for things that are in desperate need.

Bartercard’s director, Tony Wiese, explained why the franchise decided to offer the package.

“Bartercard is proud to have supported business in Australia for the past 29 years and it is our time now to continue to support not only SME’s but the greater population. Unlike frequent flyer and other programs, one Bartercard dollar is the equivalent of one Australian dollar per the ATO, so we are aiming to make a real difference to people’s lives in these unprecedented hard times with these $1,000 grants.”

He elaborated on why the franchise decided to open itself out to the general population.

“We have approximately 10,000 business members across Australia alone who are now, more than ever, looking at every way possible to keep their doors open. Through our offer to the greater population, this will give financial reprieve to the recipients and stimulate more business for our existing merchants.”
