Auntie Anne’s has just signed a deal to launch 27 new franchise locations in Taiwan.
The takeaway franchise, which sells sweet and savoury American-style soft pretzels, has partnered with IndulgeEAT Ltd, a subsidiary of one of Taiwan’s biggest sports clothing retailers. As part of a multi-unit agreement with Auntie Anne’s, the brand will open its 27 brand-new food stores within the next five years.
The locations will cover a number of major cities and take various forms, including freestanding, in-line, streetside and non-traditional outlets. Thanks to the multi-unit franchisee’s many years of industry experience, it has strong connections with local landlords, which it can use during the expansion project.
Beto Guajardo, President of foodservice business developer FOCUS Brands International, explained,
“As we continue to see a great deal of success in Asian markets like South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines, we firmly believe expanding the Auntie Anne’s brand into the Taiwan market is the natural next step.
“IndulgeEAT LTD shares our passion and excitement and is the perfect partner to grow Auntie Anne’s in that market. Western concepts continue to excel in this part of the world, and we believe our pretzels will quickly win over the hearts of the Taiwanese.”
The new Taiwan franchise locations will sell a wide range of Auntie Anne’s menu items, including bestsellers like the soft pretzels, ‘pretzel nuggets’ and ‘pretzel dogs’. Plus, customers will be able to enjoy several other products, which have proven successful in other Auntie Anne’s branches across Asia. The additions will include the Almond Cream Cheese Stix, a local favourite.
The pretzel franchise is continuing its international expansion and looking for enthusiastic investors with a passion for serving up delicious food.
