Franchising details
We’ve created a complete customer experience which stands out head and shoulders above the competition. In a world now filled with cafes and drink outlets, we dare to be different and become so much more than “just another coffee shop”.
A very high-quality range of products and excellent customer service are at the core of our success, but there’s a great deal more to what we want to achieve together.
Building an ethical business, in a sustainable way
We’ve always wanted to do business the right way. Yes, this is a model designed to be very profitable and rewarding for both our businesses, but it’s also one that is built around very strong values. We run a great business, without compromising. We are climate conscious and we look after the people we work with. We will support you to do the same. We want to share our values with you, and help you weave them into your business to achieve success.
Our mission (to provide Damn Fine Coffee™ to as many people as possible) means creating a space in the local community where customers from all walks of life can come together, and share in this experience. Places defined by their stylish décor and welcoming atmosphere where customers can enjoy either a quiet break away from a busy day, or a lively meet-up with friends and colleagues. They are the heart and soul of their local community.
Every store is designed and operated around 3 core principles: coffee, community and ambition.
IT STARTS WITH A CUP OF COFFEE, DAMN FINE COFFEE™
Coffee is at the core of everything we do. This humble cup of joy is responsible for making each day a little brighter for our customers, our team and our communities. From the farms and cooperatives where our coffee is grown, to a customer’s first sip at home or at one of our stores, every chapter in the story of our coffee is about delivering an exceptional standard of taste and experience. We call this standard Damn Fine Coffee™.
COFFEE CREATES COMMUNITY
Our stores are embedded into the communities we open in, more so than the idealised “third space” – they are naturally places to connect, to work, to recharge or simply to spend time. We have locations spanning education, culture, residential, office and creative sectors, each has its own identity and builds community in a unique way, but together they provide safe, welcoming spaces filled with care and Damn Fine Coffee™.
COMMUNITY INSPIRES AMBITION
92 Degrees Coffee is more than just a coffee shop, we are a brand built on wild ambitions and a fierce determination to help people achieve success – however they define it. The communities that we have built across the country, including our headquarters and roastery in Liverpool, are driven by our mission to provide Damn Fine Coffee™ to as many people around the world as possible.
We’ve just opened our 17th site in 2024 (with more in planning stages), only 7 years after we fully committed to expanding the company (including the two years of lockdowns and partial openings). From the very first day, opening the doors of our flagship site in 2015, we have always had big ambitions to see our beloved brand being appreciated around the globe.
We are open and flexible about the kind of people we want to join us in growing 92 Degrees, by partnering with us as a franchisee. We have seen time and again how valuable different perspectives and skills can be to our company. Likewise, we don’t think you must have a strict set of skills to succeed with us, they will come with our training and support over time. Some experience in F&B or hospitality is welcome but, at the same time, 92 Degrees Coffee is committed to doing things differently. We would value partners who have strong operational experience, but this doesn’t necessarily need to be in this sector. More than anything else, it is the right kind of person, with the right attitude and ambition, that we most value as our partners.
Your Investment
The initial fee for becoming a partner in a 92 Degrees Coffee franchise is just £20,000 (plus VAT), and there are two levels of opportunity:
- Single-Unit Starters - Once you have your first location set-up, there’s nothing to stop you expanding into multiple units in your local area.
- The Multi-Unit Investor - This option allows you to dive straight in with a plan to open multiple units across your chosen area, over the term of our agreement.
There are other costs, such as leasing and outfitting your new coffee shop, business insurance, hiring, and paying staff etc. We recommend you have a certain amount of working capital available to support yourself, and your team, while your new business gets off the ground and reaches its full earning potential.
Costs can vary depending on location, but we have a detailed breakdown based on our current outlets. We estimate the total required set-up costs, to open your first 92 Degrees coffee shop, to be around £164,235 + VAT.
Funding is available (subject to status) via the franchise department of most High Street Banks. Plus, there’s the Government-backed Business Start-Up Loan scheme which allows you to borrow up to £25,000 in order to start your business. This figure is double if you have two directors.
The earning potential of your franchise can vary a great deal depending on outlet size and location. However, based upon our existing operations, with a well-established store, you can reasonably expect to see a full return on your investment by Year 2. We’re happy to share more detailed financial modelling during further discussions.
The initial franchise agreement lasts for five years, which is renewable, subject to certain criteria being met by the franchisee and in agreement with the franchisor.

Training and support
Our comprehensive training plan will give you the best possible start in your new business, whether working “hands-on” in the business, or overseeing operations and employing a manager in each outlet.
Your training starts at our HQ & Roastery in Liverpool and will be a mix of classroom-based and practical learning, with time spent in our mock-up coffee shop, roastery and tasting room.
Once you’ve completed the basics, you (or your store manager/delegated official) will attend an on-the-job training programme in an existing outlet.
When your training ends, we’ll work closely with you to produce a business plan for your first year of trading. You’ll be in control, but we will use all our experience to help you grow, develop, and maximise your potential returns.
We’ll be close at hand during your critical opening weeks, and will visit you regularly during the first year. We’re also just a phone call or email away during our partnership, for help or advice. You, and your team, will also have access to any additional training that becomes available.
