With 15 years’ experience in the restaurant and food franchising business under his belt, Matteo Frigeri is one of the industry’s most trusted names. He set up Seeds Consulting, a food franchise development agency, in 2009 with associate David Liveing, a franchise professional with more than three decades of experience. A passionate food franchise founder
Founder of Rooster Shack Imran Mamud explains that his passion for excellent food was sparked at an early age:
“I’d spend time in the kitchen cooking different dishes with my mum and throughout my time at university, I had a number of part-time jobs within the restaurant industry. These experiences taught me a lot about myself, and I knew that, one day, I would have my own food brand.”
After spending a period of time working in the food manufacturing business, Imran’s desire to set up his own outlet only grew stronger.
“By 2013, I knew that my only passion was to own my own food outlet. I wanted to create a menu that would use the finest ingredients, offer home-cooked-style food via a quick service concept, and appeal to all age groups.”
And so, Rooster Shack was born—a quick-service restaurant and takeaway offering delicious piri piri chicken. After spending three years refining the concept, brand and menu, Imran opened the first Rooster Shack store in 2016 in his hometown of Woking. It was an immediate, award-winning success scooping accolades including the BBC Good Food Award—and others quickly wanted to know how to replicate the business.
“Due to our popularity, I was approached by a customer who wanted to open his own Rooster Shack, and we opened our first franchised store in 2019. This store has exceeded our expectations and is continuing to outperform its set targets.”
Imran calls Rooster Shack “the entry ticket to franchise success in the restaurant industry of 2021.” We’re looking forward to hearing more about his experience.
