Two Walfinch home care franchises have been named as top 20 home care providers for 2024.

Walfinch Chiswick, Hammersmith and Kensington, and Walfinch Newcastle East, have been named among the top 20 home care providers in their regions by home care review website homecare.co.uk.

The two teams won against fierce competition. There are 67,673 home care reviews of 12,697 providers listed on the site. Each provider’s service is rated in five categories: staff, care/support, management, treated with dignity and value for money, based on published reviews from care clients, their friends and families.

How we became home care winners

Tanya Santos, Managing Director of Walfinch Chiswick, Hammersmith and Kensington, achieved an overall review score of ten (the maximum possible) based on 17 reviews awarding her team five out of five.

Tanya says: “This is a huge honour, as the results are solely based on client feedback. I know this because I was with a client when the awards team called her, checking that she was real and that her review was authentic.

“I think we get great reviews because our care is never limited to a pre-determined list of services. We ask clients what they want to achieve, and we do whatever it takes to help them.”

One client said in her review: “I am exceedingly fond of my career; we share the same standards and going out with her is fun! I call her 'Speedy Gonzales' (when we use a borrowed wheelchair). I wish she was my granddaughter.” The experience gave the client the confidence to use a state-of-the-art shopping trolley when going out by herself.

Tanya has also been included in the Home Care Insight Power List 2024 in the Care Innovators section, for the Walfinch Wellness initiative, resulting in a 35% improvement in client health and a 45% increase in staff job satisfaction.

Idris Nasar, Managing Director of Walfinch Newcastle East, who also scored ten, and five out of five, says: “The award is great for the whole team, especially as we only received our CQC registration last year. I think it's a result of hiring genuinely caring and empathetic staff and making sure that they are managed and looked after well. That gets passed on to our clients.”

“It's particularly pleasing because these reviews are impartial and genuinely earned. My main aim now is to maintain this five-star quality of care – and the award has inspired us all to live up to it.”
