Local home care support company Sylvian Care South Gloucester is marking its first year in business. Husband and wife Jerry Bosu and Alisha Limbu met at work before being inspired to launch their own care company, utilising their background as mental health nurses. A year later, their shared passion and expertise have built a compassionate care service that truly understands the needs of their community.

“We met working together as mental health nurses in west London,” said managing director Alisha. “We then moved to Oxford, where I finished my training, before settling in Gloucester to be closer to my family.”

After over a decade of experience in the care sector, with Jerry’s entrepreneurial spirit, the couple began to explore options of what to do next. “I’d always wanted to run my own business,” said Jerry. “Sylvian Care South Gloucester was the perfect opportunity for us. Me and Alisha have a lot of experience in care, so it seemed a natural choice. Using our backgrounds, we like to be quite hands-on with the work we do – it’s really rewarding to make such a positive impact in people’s lives.”

Nationwide care brand Sylvian Care nurtures a uniquely personable relationship between care professionals and service users, creating a supportive, caring and familiar space for people to feel respected and confident to continue living life their way.

Sylvian Care South Gloucester was registered with CQC in December 2022, with trading starting the following year. As they celebrate their first anniversary, Sylvian Care South Gloucester has received glowing reviews from their staff and clients alike.

One of their care professionals, Enetty, has been working with the team for over a year and says, “Coming from Africa, it has been such a great journey working at Sylvian Care. My clients have brought the best out of me too. I’m proud to be part of the team and I carry our logo with pride as our care comes deep from all our hearts.”

Julie, a daughter of one of their clients, also states, “Mum has been cared for by Sylvian Care for a few months now, and I can’t fault the company in any way – the staff are happy, friendly and engaging with my mum and also very punctual.

“When new medicine is introduced, it’s always double checked by management. I love the app too – it keeps me well informed and up to date with each visit.”

Sylvian Care South Gloucester extends a range of care services to residents in areas including Chipping Sodbury, Yate, Thornbury, Alveston, Patchway and Bradley Stoke.

“Now that we’re more established and have taken time to celebrate our first year in business with our team, we’re looking forward to working with other local companies and supporting charities in our community. We’re proud to deliver care to clients across such a vast area – and in a beautiful part of the country – so we’d like to give back to others living on our doorstep however we can,” added Alisha.
