The Massage Company checks in with Tunbridge Wells franchisee

Taran Bassi recently spoke with the spa franchise about why The Massage Company was the perfect investment for him alongside his other commitments.
Taran is an extremely busy person with fingers in numerous successful pies, so he was searching for an investment opportunity that would still allow him to split his time among several different ventures and responsibilities. An investment with The Massage Company was able to provide that, and he’s now a proud member of the spa franchise’s wide UK network, and the owner of The Massage Company Tunbridge Wells.
Taran, with the time he had, wanted to invest in a business “that would really help people and make a difference to their lives”. He said, “I was able to see the beginning of The Massage Company before the pilot site was even opened and understand how the business was being put together and make sure what we were doing was changing the industry and being a real disruptor in it.”
He runs The Massage Company Tunbridge Wells via a “management contract”, and he’s “put a structure in place so [he knows] the team is being looked after and the business is going to grow without necessarily having [his] day-to-day involvement.” That said, this doesn’t mean that Taran didn’t put in his hours and complete plenty of early research in order to get things right!
In his words, “I like to be involved and really understand a business, so I spent two years or so really understanding how the team works, what members are looking for, and what the business needs to grow.” Now, with that base of knowledge secure in his mind, he’s stepped away from the role and put the management contract in place with The Massage Company’s support.
Of the support and training offered by The Massage Company to its franchisees, Taran said, “The support you get from day one is really good. All the way through from finding a site [to] negotiation with landlords, the build, and getting quotes in and getting the right team in place. There was [also] great support with the design to ensure we got the right look and feel for the business, then with the opening, marketing, and ongoing team recruitment.” Find out more about starting your own The Massage Company location via the franchise’s profile page, linked above.
Massage Company
The Massage Company links together the well-proven concept of a membership based business, as seen in most gym and fitness club models, with the growing awareness of the benefits of massage
