Signs Express franchisee supports food delivery charity

Signs Express Chester supported local charity Bridge Community Farms by transforming its van with a new vehicle wrap.

Steve Lloyd, who owns the sign franchise’s Chester branch, helped the food delivery charity as part of his ongoing support initiative. He first started working with it after meeting its founder, Francis Ball MBE.

Bridge Community Farms has been growing and delivering organic fruit and veg from its 10-acre farm in Ellesmere Port since 2015. Every week, it transports high-quality produce to customers across West Cheshire and the Wirral. Through its work, it supports people with mental health and life-long learning difficulties, and provides work experience for young and unemployed individuals.

Steve explained,

"After hearing Francis talk passionately about his idea of creating an inner-city farm which could be used to help disadvantaged young adults, I volunteered our services if they ever needed any signage.”

"Over the years, I have heard some amazing stories from people about how the farm has helped them. Anytime we can help, we are honoured to assist."

The organisation’s services have become even more important during the Covid-19 pandemic; it has seen four times more enquiries from elderly people confined to their homes. Steve revealed why he was so passionate about upgrading the charity’s vehicle:

"When Francis showed me the van recently, I knew that we could turn it into a powerful marketing tool and it was a pleasure to transform it from an old service van into something that represents Bridge and the great work it does.”
