A Radfield Home Care franchise is making sure that its employees are earning a comfortable salary by meeting the ‘Living Wage’.
The gulf between the government’s minimum legal wage and what people realistically need to live comfortable lives is a much-discussed topic, with many employers pledging to pay their staff a ‘living wage’ to ensure they’re not struggling.
Radfield Home Care Stamford, Peterborough and Rutland is one of those businesses, as it has pledged to pay all of its committed employees a minimum of £9 per hour as a ‘Real Living Wage’ employer. This means that its staff will make 80p more than the government’s over-25s minimum hourly wage of £8.21.
The ‘Real Living Wage’ is a voluntary benchmark for employers to meet to ensure that everyone who works for them gets a fair wage, and it’s different for every area. It was set up to make sure that every worker is able to live without feeling as though they’re scraping by every month and many ethical companies, including Radfield, have decided to get on board with the fantastic scheme.
James Beech, who owns Radfield Home Care Stamford, Peterborough and Rutland, explained:
“We have taken the decision to become an accredited Living Wage employer and adopted a ‘Caring for Carers’ pledge to demonstrate our commitment to our staff. If we look after our staff well, we believe that they will look after our clients well. This feeds into our ethos of providing Exceptional Care by Exceptional People”.
As a certified B Corp, home care franchise Radfield Home Care is committed to ensuring that everything it does is ethical for the planet and the people it works with.
