Poppies optimistic about post-lockdown return

Since the recent regulation relaxation, the domestic and commercial cleaning franchise has seen a spike in new customers signing up.
Poppies has recorded a 170% increase in client demand across its 22 locations since the end of March, at which time COVID-19 regulations began to lift. In a time of cautious re-opening, customers are turning to trusted, well-trained Poppies cleaners for hygienic, reliable assistance.
The cleaning franchise first opened in 1980, and now delivers a high-quality service to over 6,000 homes. Chris Wootton, who began his work with Poppies in 1996, has seen the company through some huge changes and in 2018, he became franchisor. He’s hopeful that, even after the huge impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the domestic cleaning sector will be able to bounce back stronger than before.
“In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, many people are now scrutinising their environment like never before with homeowners placing greater emphasis on the importance of clean surroundings. [...] We have experienced similar challenges to the rest of the franchising industry over the past year and, luckily, thanks to the resilience of the franchise network and the dedicated work of their cleaners and understanding from their clients, Poppies has continued to flourish.”
Nicola Marinan, Poppies’ Durham franchisee, is just one example of the post-lockdown customer spike. Nicola has seen a huge surge in demand in the last two weeks.
“We signed up more than 17 new clients and doubled the number of cleaning quotations, many of which have resulted in conversions. We are now in a strong position to start recruiting and adding to our team of 25, who are delivering more than 444 home cleans every month in and around Durham. We are optimistic about the future and look forward to keeping our customers safe and healthy.”
