Ecocleen cleans up on school satisfaction

Ecocleen has been discussing the challenges it faces when ensuring schools are kept hygienically clean.
Managing Director of Ecocleen, Jean-Henri Beukes, has been talking about the challenges the environmentally friendly cleaning franchise faces when keeping school environments clean.
In a fascinating blog post, Beukes discussed how the business needed to change after winning its first contract with a nursery to ensure that the right people were on board to deliver the widely accredited franchise’s services.
He stated that, after becoming a governor at a local school, he realised a tiny 15% of schools’ budgets are kept back to be allocated to essentials such as cleaning and books. By providing Ecocleen’s affordable yet innovative cleaning service, Beukes realised he might be able to find a way to reduce costs.
He said: “By identifying high traffic areas that need to be cleaned on a daily basis, and being more realistic about other more time-consuming areas that might not need such regular attention, we were able to save clients’ money.”
However, he needed the right individuals for the job. As he said in his blog, the responsibility of working with children and ensuring a hygienic school atmosphere meant the job needed special people. Beukes discussed the complicated world of safeguarding, noting that since taking on schools as clients, Ecocleen has ensured all of its franchisees have enhanced DBS checks completed for their staff, with regular update checks, and encourage safeguarding training to be regularly completed.
He added that Ecocleen’s unique products also contain no harsh chemicals, meaning schools are cleaned in a natural, less harmful way suitable for children with sensitivity.
Beukes’ fascinating blog provided lots of insight into other areas of the business too, including how its head office is committed to making the franchising process simple by handling marketing and offering constant support.
Although it would be easy for the man behind Ecocleen to speak highly of it, satisfied client Glynis Smith added her praise of the service provided to her school, Gillotts Academy. “We have been very pleased with the way Ecocleen has taken on the challenge of cleaning at Gillotts School. We were looking for a company that could provide us with a value for money service and their pricing was realistic. Ecocleen are completely customer focused and have sorted issues very quickly. It cannot be easy cleaning a school that has over 1,000 people on site every day, but our staff regularly comment on how much better the cleaning standards are since Ecocleen started. I would not hesitate to recommend Ecocleen.”
