Cafe2U supports autism fun run
Cafe2U provided refreshments for a charity 10k that raised money to support autistic people.
Englefield’s annual 10k race took place recently and runners were helped along by the tasty refreshment that Cafe2U provided.
The annual event, which is in its eighth year, took runners on a scenic yet challenging tour of the Englefield Estate, which is just outside Reading. Hundreds of people participated in the charity event that sought to raise money for the charity Autism Berkshire, which helps children and adults living with autism to have a fulfilling and happy life. Runners were required to pay a registration fee of £16 or £20 (for those registering on the day) to take part and all of the entrance money was donated to the charity.
Cafe2U was also at the event, providing quality coffee to any runners who needed a boost before the race or a pick-me-up after they’d finished the multi-terrain 10k course. Spectators were also able to enjoy a quality cup of coffee as they cheered on their loved ones, choosing from drinks such as the punchy espresso, mellow latte or decadent mocha.
The event also featured a smaller 3k course for children to take part in. Anyone under 15 was welcome to tackle the shorter yet equally challenging route to see if they could beat their fellow young sportspeople.
After it was launched in the UK in 2004, Cafe2U quickly became one of the UK’s most popular mobile coffee franchises. Since recruiting its first franchisee in 2006, Cafe2U has gone from strength to strength and now has more than 90 vans spanning the country serving its quality coffee and hot chocolates.
