Business Partnership franchisee makes the most of redundancy

Business Partnership has welcomed a new franchisee after he faced redundancy at his old job.

Luke Thomas was an experienced senior manager before he lost his job with the car hire firm Enterprise Holdings. But, rather than return to full-time employment, he decided to join Business Partnership and start his own business.

Now, he’s the proud owner of his very own Business Partnership branch. Luke, who is originally from Kent and moved to Twickenham after spending two years in Dublin, will cover the regions of Twickenham, Kingston and Sutton in South East England.

The new franchisee will bring his two decades of management experience to the table as a Business Partners investor, as well as his expertise in customer service, finance and sales. Having set up his unit, he’ll support other entrepreneurs buying and selling their businesses.

Luke joins a network of 20 regional Business Partnership franchisees across the UK, who offer a comprehensive brokerage service to buyers and sellers. In 2020, the group achieved a combined sale value of over £13.5 million for their clients.

Luke explained why he chose to join the business franchise:

“I was interested in running my own business and Business Partnership gives me the opportunity to do that with the backing of a major franchise.”

He also commented on the opportunities created by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The challenges and changes individuals and businesses have seen during the pandemic have caused many people to rethink and reset their perspectives and this in turn presents us with opportunities.

“There will be people like myself who have money to invest in a new business and those who wish to make a lifestyle change by selling their existing business and retiring or buying a new business in a different location.”
