Much has changed and improved at Veeno including new ownership, so please enjoy a short interview with Rodrigue Trouillet, director and owner of Veeno to find out more…

Rodrigue Trouillet: I have always liked the Hospitality industry and when I made a career change after 20 years at Walt Disney, it was recommended that I enter this new industry via franchising. With that in mind, I started looking into a brand that resonated to what I like and who I am, and this is how I came across Veeno in 2017. I was convinced the concept would work as it was not as formal as a restaurant and not as casual as a pub.

I applied to Veeno in 2017 as a Regional Master Franchisee for London. After some time on the front line, I decided to utilise my Disney experience into buying the company. At that point, Veeno was put into administration and I bought it out as a Pre-Pack arrangement. It was an opportunity for me to be the decision maker in how the business should run from now on.

We have been planning the future by renovating our stores, increasing our presence on e-commerce, launching an app that will help to adapt to new customer behaviours such as buying our wine tasting experiences or any food offer from our menu “to go” or to be purchased via our online platform and be delivered to homes.

We need to continue being agile in our concept (without losing the essence of who we are) and look at new opportunities such as opening in the morning for coffee and breakfast trading, increase the takeaway offering, look into “kiosk style” solutions if the model is viable.

The concept is unique and attracts a clientele looking for authenticity, style, quality of products and service. There is a sensible capital investment with practical operating cost, no full kitchen is required hence the business model is very attractive. We have a very strong base of loyal customers that receive our newsletter or follow us on social media which keeps growing and we are continually investing in technology platforms to optimise our business operation and marketing activities. We are passionate about what we do and want to enjoy ourselves along this journey, it takes the same passion from a Franchisee to become part of the Veeno Family.
