Franchising details
It is hard not to think of Clarks shoes when talking of the top manufacturers of footwear.
For almost two centuries, Clarks has played well in the industry revolutionising shoes, defining generation from generations and innovating shoe styles and designs.
Currently, we are known for our Desert Boot, which is a special ankle height booth that has a crepe rubber sole and traditionally made from calf suede leather. This over 60-year old boot design truly set as apart from our competitors and helped us rise from a simple shoe manufacturing company to a worldwide shoe retailer.

Our company has been around for more than two hundred years and we're still at the top of our game. This we owe to our adhesion of Clarks core values in running the business model plus our dedication in producing only the best footwear as well as our love for endless innovation. In fact, many reputable organisations have been acknowledging our efforts through the giving of awards with the most recent being the “Children's Footwear Brand of the Year” and the “Comfort and Wellness Footwear Brand of the Year” all received from The Footwear Industry Awards 2017. More than that, our legacy in the popular culture is well established as seen in the “rude boys” movement in Jamaica, Beatnik Culture in the US and with our adoption by the rapper community. This means that we are more than just a shoe brand, we are players of the culture as well.
Training and support
Clarks traces its roots back in 1821 when Cyrus Clark partnered with his cousin in Street, Somerset, UK. It first reached international success when it expanded to Ireland, Canada and Australia from 1820s to 1850s. Management passed from the Clark family to professional managers in the 1990s. This marked the revolution which helped reach and maintain our global peak.
