ComputerXplorers is the leading provider of technology education for children between the ages of three and 13. The goal of this exciting franchise is to deliver engaging, educational and fun classes so that children learn computer skills in an enjoyable environment.

ComputerXplorers introduces younger students to podcasting, digital photography, programming, robotics, and the internet. Older children of school age learn programming, animation, video game design, web design, digital storytelling, coding, music technology and much more.

The benefits of ComputerXplorers classes for kids include:

  • Preparing children for their future now.
  • Allowing children to be a creator of technology, not just a consumer of it.
  • Provide great fun while learning new skills.
  • Innovative and unique classes to keep children engaged.
  • Classes run by trained and DBS checked leaders.
  • Small class sizes to give children the confidence to fully participate.
  • A wide range of class content from coding to animation and everything in between.

With the digital world developing and changing so rapidly, parents and schools alike are prepared to pay for experts to teach children about the latest technological advances. This means that the potential UK market is huge.

There are more than 11 million children in the UK attending in the region of 58,000 nurseries, pre-school groups, and primary schools plus many more after-school clubs and holiday schemes. These provide an opportunity for ComputerXplorers to teach children to become confident and competent when working with computers to help give them the best start in life.

If you have a love for all things IT and would love the chance to share your passion with the younger generation, then this could be the franchise for you.

What’s required?

You don’t need to be an IT expert to become a ComputerXplorers franchisee but you do need to be confident with technology and enthusiastic about its benefits. This is because when you start your own franchise, you’ll employ a team of people to deliver the classes for you while you concentrate on building and developing your business.

If you’re prepared to work hard, are comfortable dealing with people, and have a positive mindset, you’re just the type of franchisee that ComputerXplorers is looking for. As long as you’re prepared to follow the tried and tested franchise system that has a proven track record of success, all the other skills you’ll need will be included in the training programme.

This is a full-time franchise opportunity, however, so you must be willing to dedicate your time and effort into making your business a success. The harder you work, the more successful you’ll be.

Financial information

The total cost of investing a ComputerXplorers "classic" option franchise is £14,950 plus VAT. Franchise package

Becoming a ComputerXplorers franchisee is a long-term commitment. The franchise agreement is for ten years and is renewable at no extra cost. During the term of your agreement, your territory will remain exclusive to you. The size of your territory is worked out based on the number of primary schools and pre-schools in your area.

You’ll also benefit from a full marketing launch programme, including PR support and appointment generation so that you can get your business off to the best possible start. Once you’ve completed your initial training, you’ll have access to more than 200 lesson plans to make certain that your staff can deliver the materials with ease.

And to ensure that you’ve always got the best teaching technology at your fingertips, ComputerXplorers constantly update your software and teaching materials as well as offering customised business planning advice, regular conference calls, and on-going marketing advice.

Case study

Stephen Hall has been running ComputerXplorers in Birmingham with his wife, Fiona since January 2011. He chose to invest in a ComputerXplorers franchise because he’s a self-confessed computer geek and loved the idea of combining this with having fun and educating children.

Stephen and Fiona both work full-time in the business and they both agree that it’s the best job they’ve ever had. Teaching children from all walks of life is even more fun and satisfying than they thought it would be.

Stephen’s proudest moment was when he and Fiona were asked to run cartoon-making sessions with children who have to make regular trips to hospital. The objective is to make their visits more pleasurable, teach them some new skills and give them a channel to express their feelings. Making a difference to children’s lives is extremely rewarding for the Hall’s and has enabled them to run a profitable business too.

The digital technology industry is growing

If you still needed convincing that owning and operating a business in the digital technology industry is the right thing to do, then the stats speak for themselves. In fact, the industry is worth nearly £184 billion to the UK economy, up from £170 billion in 2016, according to Tech Nation’s 2018 report.

This means that the technology sector is growing almost three times faster than the rest of the economy. London is the world’s second most connected hub after Silicon Valley but the UK is steadily growing into a tech nation with 16 other towns and cities across the country identified as employing higher than average numbers of people in tech jobs.

This makes it a great time to not only start your own digital business but to teach the next generation to become computer literate too. Investing in a ComputerXplorers franchise allows you to do both.
